Dalhousie University Agricultural campus

In 2017 Wellons FEI Corp. was awarded a contract to supply a 5.4 Mw wood fired thermal fluid energy system to the University of Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Truro, NS.  The supply of the energy system was part of a major campus energy overhaul to convert the aging steam distribution system to a hot water district energy system.  A Turboden ORC system is also part of the project to give the campus the capability of producing 1 Mw of green electricity that they can sell to Nova Scotia power as part of their ‘’COMFIT’’ program.

The Wellons FEI scope is to supply the fuel storage, fuel handling, combustion chamber, thermal fluid heater, pollution control system, ESP, as well as the controls, instrumentation, start-up and integration with the Turboden system.    The facility is scheduled for start-up in late 2017.
